A triagency law enforcement investigation resulted in the arrests of three juveniles and one adult in connection with a weekend crime spree in Roosevelt, Vernal and the west side of Uintah County.
A 19-year-old Roosevelt man was arrested along with three juvenile males ranging in age from 15 to 17, according to Roosevelt Police Chief Cecil Gurr.The 19-year-old was charged with two misdemeanor counts of theft and is being held in the Duchesne County Jail. The juveniles have been referred to Ute Tribal Juvenile Court for prosecution.
The four are charged in connection with the attempted burglary at the Roosevelt Top Stop convenience store on West Highway 40.
They are also charged with the break-in and burglary at the Tri-Mart Convenience store on Main Street, and in thefts at IGA and Circle K stores in Roosevelt Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Beer was the only thing taken in the thefts, said police.
In addition, the juveniles are charged with attempted burglary at the Gotta Stop Store in Fort Duchesne and with thefts at the Maeser 7-Eleven and Smith's Food King in Vernal.
Bureau of Indian Affairs police, Roosevelt City police and the Uintah County Sheriff's Department assisted each other in the investigation.
