Phone: 571-8602 or 571-0866Bit of History: Draper, first known as South Willow Creek, was founded in 1849. From its early days, Draper has been an educational and cultural center. So it remains today, with one or more special events taking place each month. The hub of these activities is the historical Draper Park School, which houses the Draper City offices, the Draper Historical Society Museum and library and also the Draper City Arts Council.

Who'd be interested: The entire family.

What you can do: Draper Historical Society monthly meeting will be held Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in Draper City Hall council room. Subject: Draper Mountain Trails. Panel discussion and video presentation. "Annie," a musical presented by the Draper City Arts Council, will be held Sept. 27, 28, 30 and Oct. 3, 4 and 5 at the Draper City Hall Auditorium.

When it's open: The Historical Museum and library are open each Wednesday, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Special tours can also be arranged.

What does it cost?: Free to the public.
