Homestead pro Bruce Summerhays lost some of his lead, but still held a 4-stroke lead Wednesday after two rounds of the Utah Section PGA Championship at The Homestead.
Summerhays fired a 2-under-par 70, which coupled with his record 62 of the previous day, left him four shots ahead of Stansbury Park pro Jeff Green, who carded his second straight 68. Three more strokes back in third in Fore Lakes pro Brad Asplund, who had the best round of the day, a 67, for 139 total.Three golfers are tied at 140, including Alpine's Kim Thompson, Stansbury's Tom Costello and Mountain View's Milan Swilor, the defending champion, who is coming back from an appendectomy less than two weeks ago. Two more strokes back at 142 are three golfers, including Mike Malaska, the section winner in 1987 and 1988.
In the senior division, Lanny Nielsen and Ralph Emery are tied at 151, two shots better than George Schneiter.
