Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, age 95, passed away on September 4, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born April 10, 1896 in Salt Lake City to George and Elizabeth Muirhead McAllister. Married G. Henry (Heinie) Goffe on March 18, 1918 and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary just prior to his death in 1988. Ida was a devoted homemaker and mother. Active in PTA and served in various positions in the Primary and Relief Society of the LDS Church. She was a lifelong member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars serving as president of Post 409, Utah Department president, and was Utah representative to the VFW National Council. She also served as president of the Utah Patriotic Council.Survived by her children, Richard H. and Patricia Goffe, Portland, Oregon; Joyce and J. Richard McGhan, Mesa, Arizona; and Dean O. and Myrl Goffe, Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Rees; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services on Saturday, September 7, at 2 p.m., Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Saturday, 12:30-1:45 p.m. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
