Leland Franklin Workman, age 86, died at his home September 4, 1991.

He was born May 4, 1905 in Vernal, son of William James and Emma Luella Abplanalp Workman. Married Sarah Ann Oaks November 7, 1928 in Vernal; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death July 8, 1988. He was a rancher and stockman, carpenter and miner. Active member of the LDS Church serving two missions with his wife, Sarah.Survived by sons and daughters, Bill, Ted, Mrs. June (LaNae) Merkley, Mrs. Ned (Marie) Gardner, and Mrs. Kent (DeAnn) Stringham, and Mrs. Kent (Nita) Boren, all of Vernal; and Jim, Woods Cross; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Orisho, Salt Lake City; Harold, Crystle Air, Calif.; Clara Bennett, Grand Junction, Colo.; Horace D., Vernal; and Jay, Marina Del Rae, California.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., in the Glines 1st Ward Chapel, 1250 West 1500 South, Vernal. Friends may call at Thomsons Vernal Mortuary, Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial, Vernal Memorial Park.
