Alberta Lewis Thornton, 86, died January 12, 1992 in American Fork.

Born March 3, 1905 in Monroe, Utah to Jay Morgan and Rosalia Almeda Washburn Lewis. She married Phillip H. Burkes; they were later divorced. She married John E. Thornton September 4, 1931 in Junction, Utah; marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Survived by her husband, Pleasant Grove; two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Jackie) Brady, and Hal J. Thornton, both Pleasant Grove; Lynn L. Thornton, Lindon; Mrs. Lenn (Cherril) Garner, of Heyburn, Idaho; 17 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Durwed (Maxine) Cook, Salt Lake City.

Services Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. or Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Burial in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
