Mark Francis Jones passed away Saturday, January 11, 1992 in Salt Lake City after a long illness.
He was born September 20, 1912 to Walter Scott and Amelia Priscilla Gay Jones in Spanish Fork, Utah. He attended Springville High School and Utah State University where he graduated in Forestry. He married Elizabeth (Libbie) Steveson on January 19, 1941 in Kingman, Arizona; later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple September 4, 1951. He served in the European Theatre of War during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a District Forest Ranger. He was active in the LDS Church where he served in the bishopric, stake presidency, and on the High Council.He is survived by his wife; two sons, Mark F. II
of Sandy; and Glen F. of Riverton; a daughter,
Denise J. Bethel of Price; nine grandchildren; a sister, Fern J. Weight of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 1992, at 11:00 a.m. in the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West 3320 South. Friends may call at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, at the church, 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Burial, Valley View Memorial Park.
