BYU's women's basketball team defeated Wyoming 87-74 in the WAC opener for both teams Thursday night in Laramie.

Senior guard Kim Talbot scored a career-high 28 points and freshman guard Thais Kidd, starting for the first time in her career, was second in scoring with 18 and led in assists and steals Freshman center Debbie Dimond had a team-high 13 rebounds.BYU improves its overall record to 9-5, 1-0 in the WAC. Wyoming is also 9-5, 0-1 in the conference.
