Clifford William Varley, 75, passed away January 17, 1992 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born April 5, 1916 in Pocatello, Idaho to Franklin Malcolm and Mabel Alice Edgar Varley. he married Anne Lether on April 4, 1941 in Farmington, Utah Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 26, 1952.A member of the LDS Church, Clifford served in the bishopric of the 14th Ward, was the High Priest Group leader, and served a stake mission. He served in World War II. He worked as a building engineer at Sears for 24 years. He studied painting under Roscoe Grover and became an accomplished painter. He was also a beloved candy maker, and many people were recipients of his paintings and candy. He enjoyed camping and took many trips with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; a daughter, Dorothy Ann Hoffman, Hawaii; two sons, William Clifford Varley, David Lynn Varley, both of California; seven grandchildren; sister, June Pearce; and brother, John Varley. He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 22, 1992, in the Rose Park 10th Ward, 760 North 1200 West. Friends may call Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, and Wednesday, 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the ward.

Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
