Utah's junior tennis players dominated the wintertime Intermountain Junior Tennis Championships played over the holiday weekend.

Utah players filled nine of the 12 spots in the finals of six open divisions. They went on to win four of the six titles and were runners-up in the other two.The event started last Friday with 232 junior players from Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Colorado and Utah. The finals were played Monday at the Canyon Racquet Club.

In the boys' 14, Nicolas Losse of Provo, beat Jordan Butler of Bountiful, 6-2, 6-3, and in the girls' 14 Megan Payne of St. George, beat Kim Kelly of Salt Lake City, 6-2, 6-3.

In the boys' 16, Logan Woolley of Ogden, beat Jason Anderson of Colorado, 6-3, 6-1, and in the girls' 16, Adrien Alder of Ogden, beat Angie Olson, also from Ogden, 6-2, 6-3.

In one of the closest matches of the event, Mitch Robinson of Colorado, rallied to beat Salt Lake's Brandon Hodges, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, in the boys' 18. And in the girls' 18, Michelle Domanico of Nevada, beat Juliet Alder of Ogden, 6-4, 6-1.
