Justin Paola hit a 25-foot jump shot with two seconds left to give Eastern Washington a 71-68 Big Sky Conference victory over Weber State on Thursday.

The win snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Eagles (4-12, 1-4).Eastern Washington hung on to a 67-64 lead with 59 seconds remaining. Weber State (9-9, 4-3) got a pair of free throws from Mike Sivulich to pull the Wildcats to within one.

Paola was fouled by Jason Joe with 35 seconds left and made the second of two free throws to put Eastern Washington up 68-66. Weber State tied the game at 68 on a 12-foot shot from Al Hamilton with 24 seconds left.

But with two seconds to go, Paola hit the long-distance trey to give Eastern Washington the win.

The Eagles led 37-35 at the half. There were 12 ties and nine lead changes in the game.

Hamilton led all scorers with 16 while David Baldwin added 15 for the Wildcats and Anthony Steward 10.
