Demonstrator holds a poster of Georgian President Zviad Gamsakhurdia outside the gates of a Tbilisi jail Monday. Approximately 1,000 Gamsakhurdia backers marched to the jail demanding the release of demonstrators who were held for organizing previous protests. Also Monday, Georgian troops attacked positions held by loyalists outside the western town of Poti.
