The Utah Valley Regional Family History Center will offer free classes in family history research Sunday, Feb. 9.

Located on the fourth floor of the Lee Library on the Brigham Young University campus, the center is open the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 9 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.Computer courses offered Feb. 9 will include a basic overview of computers and PAF (Personal Ancestry File) workshop, 9:30 a.m.; notes and documentation on PAF, 9:30 a.m.; advanced Macintosh PAF, 11 a.m.; beginning Macintosh PAF, 11 a.m.; adding records and pedigree searching on PAF, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; modifying, deleting and printing on PAF, 1 p.m.; PAF using Spanish, 3 p.m.; advanced IBM PAF, 3 p.m.; word processing using PAF data, 4:30 p.m.; PAF using genealogy exchange, 4:30 p.m.

Regular courses available include Family History Library Catalogs on computer, 9 a.m.; International Genealogical Index on computer, 10:30 a.m.; name submission, 11:30 a.m.; basic research, noon; Spanish research, 2:30 p.m.; ward consultant training, 4 p.m.; and intermediate research, 5 p.m.

In addition, the three following special classes will be presented: Helen Clegg, "English Research, Parts 1 through 6" at 4:30 p.m.; Fay Goodson, "French Canadian Research" at 2 p.m.; and Dini Hansma, "Journal History of the Church/Diaries" at 3 p.m.
