Mountain Fuel was allowed a fuel gas line permit through Juab County at Juab County Commission meeting this week.
Glenn Greenhalgh, Juab County economic development director, said his board recommended the gas company be allowed a conditional use permit to lay a pipeline through Juab County. The company also wants to build a small building in Juab County, which Greenhalgh said will also be allowed."We believe it would be good for Juab County in the future," said Greenhalgh.
The additional plus would be, said Don Eyre Jr., county attorney, that the construction would raise the tax base for the county.
The line will run through Juab County's Dog Valley area to Millard County.
Earlier, commissioners rejected a proposal by Mountain Fuel that the company be allowed a franchise. At the time, commissioners agreed they would consider permits but did not want to allow a franchise.
