Chris Walz scored the last three of his 20 points from the foul line in overtime to clinch Hawaii's 74-72 victory over Air Force in Western Athletic Conference play here Thursday.
The cold-shooting game saw Hawaii shoot 49 percent from the field while the Falcons could hit only 38.9 percent.Air Force (6-12 overall and 0-6 in WAC) led the Rainbows (10-7, 3-3) 26-23 at the half and then blew a 5-point lead with 2:08 remaining.
Fabio Ribeiro closed it to 53-52 on a jumper with 54 seconds left. Air Force's George Irvin made one of two free throws to put the Falcons ahead 54-52 with 38 seconds left. Ribeiro was fouled and hit both free throws to knot the game 54-all and send it into overtime.
Phil Lott scored 17 points for the night and Tim Shepherd chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds for Hawaii.
Dale French led Air Force with 23 points, followed by Charles Smith's 18.

CSU (10-10 overall, 4-2 WAC) built a 31-22 lead over the Aztecs (2-16, 0-6) by halftime, thanks to an 11-2 run with seven of those points scored by Tryon.
