Insurers who stand to pay out $37.4 million on the late publisher Robert Maxwell's life can't get hold of a copy of the Spanish autopsy report, The Guardian newspaper reported Wednesday.

The paper said the delay will hold up the work of British pathologist Dr. Ian West, who needs the document to deliver his own verdict on the cause of death.The Guardian said that if West establishes that Maxwell died as a result of an accident, the insurers will pay out.
