A Southern Utah University freshman has earned a business scholarship from Dixie State Bank.

Amanda Smith, a 1992 graduate of Cedar High School, received the $2,000 scholarship award from Ralph Lister, vice president in charge of the Dixie State Bank office in Parowan. According to Lister, the scholarship is geared for an incoming freshman business administration major at SUU who is a graduate of either Ceder High or Parowan High School. Selection is based on grade point average, and the scholarship covers tuition, fees and books for one year.
