SHARE DEVELOPMENT OFFICIAL FOR STATE WILL RESIGN

Stan Parrish, executive director of the Utah Department of Community and Economic Devel-opment, has resigned effective Nov. 1, to pursue private business interests.

Gov. Norm Bangerter appointed Parrish to the position in May 1989. He was formerly associate deputy administrator of the Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C."Utah has enjoyed a prosperity that is the envy of the nation the past few years. Stan has been a part of a team of public and private interests that has helped make much of this success possible," Bangerter said in a prepared statement.

Bangerter appointed Barclay Gardner as acting director of the department until the end of the Bangerter administration. Gardner is director of the Division of Community Development and deputy executive director of DCED.

Gardner was formerly executive assistant to Bangerter; executive director of admin-is-trative services and administrator of the Utah Department of Employment Security.
