A man who led Salt Lake County deputy sheriffs on a high-speed chase late Friday eluded officers and dogs after abandoning the car.

Deputy Brent Adamson attempted to pull the driver over about 11:50 p.m. for driving recklessly, but the man refused to stop. Deputies chased him from about 9050 W. 3100 South to 9600 W. 2100 South, said Capt. David Bishop.The driver came to a dead end and ran into a field. Deputies used dogs in the search, but called it off after 1 1/2 hours. A female passenger in the suspect's car was questioned but not arrested, Bishop said.
