The 18th annual tax symposium, sponsored by the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Utah State Bar, will be held Monday, Nov. 2, and Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Salt Lake Hilton Hotel.
It starts at 8 a.m. each day and advance registrations can be made by calling the association at 359-3533. The cost is $235 for members and $260 for nonmembers.The luncheon speakers will be Utah Jazz and Salt Lake Golden Eagle owner Larry H. Miller, president of the Larry H. Miller Group, and Fred S. Ball, president of the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Some of the speakers will be Michael D. Blackburn, an attorney with the firm of Snow, Christensen & Martineau; Barry C. Conover, deputy director of the State Tax Commission; J. Owen Cherrington, a Brigham Young University professor; Gerald T. Snow, Bruce L. Olsen and D. Jay Curtis, attorneys in the firm of Ray, Quinney & Nebeker.
Also, Paul Cherecwich Jr., director of tax and tax counsel for Thiokol Corp.; David K. Lauritzen, attorney in the firm of Richards, Brandt, Miller & Nelson; W. Waldan Lloyd and L. S. McCul-lough Jr., attorneys with the firm of Callister, Duncan & Nebeker; William L. Prater, attorney with the firm of Suitter Axland Armstrong & Hanson; and Linda F. Smith, associate professor at the University of Utah College of Law.
