The position of State School Board candidate Terry Nels Lee on education funding was misinterpreted as the Deseret News prepared candidate briefs for the Oct. 26 edition.

Lee's position on school funding says that "funding is a big issue, if not the biggest issue. Currently, the state ranks last in dollars spent per student. However, as a percentage of the tax spent on education, it is one of the highest."The governor and Legislature have been responsive, he said, but lobbying needs to continue to maintain "continued high priority" for education.
