The Utah Transit Authority will hold a series of public hearings to discuss transportation for handicapped people. The hearings will be a forum for individuals to discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations on who is eligible for special service.
An interpreter for people with hearing problems will be provided if you call Kathy McCune at 262-5626 at least two days before a particular hearing.Anyone who wants to submit written comments can send them to Kathy McCune, UTA Special Services Coordinator, P.O. Box 30810, Salt Lake City, UT 84130. Written comments must be received by Dec. 10.
The hearing schedule is as follows:
- Davis County: Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. in the commission chambers of the Davis County Courthouse in Farmington.
- Utah County: Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in Room L800 in the County Complex, 100 E. Center, Provo.
- Tooele County: Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Tooele County Courthouse, 47 S. Main, Tooele.
- Salt Lake County: Thursday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. room N1100, the commission chambers in the S.L. County Complex, 2001 S. State, Salt Lake City.
- Weber County: Thursday, Dec. 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Weber County Library, 2464 Jefferson, Ogden.
