Kurt Moore of Ogden was eliminated from the Chrysler National Long Driving Championship preliminaries when all four of his attempts landed out of bounds.

The event pitted 44 golfers qualifying for 15 spots in the Championship flight on Sunday who will compete for part of the $60,000 purse. With a steady breeze at their backs each competitor hit 4 balls which had to land within a 40-yard grid to be counted. Bar Palmer of Florida led all competitors with a drive of 355 yards 8 inches.
