SHARE HORNSBY RETURNS HOME FOR HONOR ON `THE RANGE’

Grammy Award winner Bruce Hornsby went home to receive the University of Miami's alumnus of distinction award Friday during homecoming celebrations.

Hornsby, a 1977 graduate of UM's School of Music, is the lead vocalist and songwriter for The Range, whose debut single "The Way It Is" reached No. 1 on the pop music charts.Hornsby won his first Grammy as Best New Artist in 1987 and his second in 1989 for his bluegrass version of "The Valley Road."
