Elijah C. Gentry, age 82, died January 29, 1992, at his home in Helper.

Born April 14, 1909, Spring Glen, Utah, son of Francis W. and Delora Davis Gentry. Married Sadie Reese, June 8, 1940, Castle Dale, Utah; she died January 2, 1981. Married Ricardita Montoya April 6, 1984, Price, Utah. Member United Methodist Church. Lifelong resident of Carbon County. Member Carbon Lodge #16 F&AM, York Rite, Scottish Rites and other masonic affiliations. Worked in various coal mines prior to retiring from Columbia Coal Mine. Retired member UMWA.Survived by his wife, Helper; four stepdaughters, three stepsons, Marie Salas, Salt Lake City; Betty Gutierrez, Carbonville; Doris Martinez, Bothell, Wash; Lydia Zamantakis, Helper; Joe A.

Montoya, Evanston, Wyo.; Joe L. Montoya, Jr., Price; Erlindo Montoya, Salt Lake City; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ferne Pasco, Salt Lake City; Forella Stevenson, Royal, Wash; numerous nieces and nephews.

Public Masonic Funeral Service, Saturday,

11 a.m., Mitchell Chapel in Price, where friends may call daily 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Family will be at Mitchell's Friday evening 7-8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment: Price City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to Shriners Childrens Hospital, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia St., SLC, UT 84103.
