Two masked men robbed a woman at gunpoint in her home west of Lehi, taking an undisclosed amount of cash Tuesday evening, the Utah County Sheriff's Departmentsaid.
Investigators Wednesday morning questioned one man in connection with the 7:30 p.m. robbery, said Sgt. Jim Tracy. The man was detained after the victim described him to police, who broadcast the description over police radios. An American Fork police officer who heard the broadcast thought he recognized the description.Tracy said the woman was home alone when two men wearing ski masks knocked on her door. As she opened the door, the men forced their way in. One man pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the woman, Tracy said.
After taking a "substantial" amount of cash, the men, described as being in their early to mid-twenties, fled on foot, Tracy said.
A search for a second suspect continues.
