Jessie Taylor Romney, 79, died peacefully at her home in Provo, February 9, 1992.
She was born November 27, 1912 in El Paso, Texas, to Jess M. and Hazel Richardson Taylor. She graduated from El Paso High School. She married Gaskell A. Romney, June 7, 1935, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1955. She lived most of her life in El Paso. She moved to Provo in 1980. She was a devout member of the LDS Church. She was ward Relief Society president four times, and served in the El Paso Stake Relief Society presidency for many years. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, arts, and crafts. She made quilts for her children, grandchildren, and friends. Her life centered on her children, her grandchildren, and her church.She is survived by two daughters: Lynette Payne (Mrs. Wayne) Fletcher, Centralia, Washington; Elizabeth Ann (Mrs. Robert) Darden, Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; seven siblings: Sadie T. Macdonald, Floyd R. Taylor, Hazel T. Ellis, and Virgil R. Taylor, all of Provo; Ed M. Taylor, Scottsdale, Arizona; Stanley K. Taylor, San Angelo, Texas, Jesse M. Taylor, Dallas, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services Saturday, Feb. 15, 10 a.m. LDS Chapel, 4775 No. 300 West, Provo (Orem Center St., 4800 No. off University Avenue.) Friends may call Friday, Feb. 14, Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center, Provo; from 6-8 p.m. Graveside service and interment in El Paso, Monday, February 17th, 2 p.m Restlawn Cemetery.
