Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton's campaign officials said Ted Wilson, former Salt Lake mayor, and Norma Matheson, widow of the late Scott Matheson, will be co-chairmen of his presidential campaign in Utah.
Clinton is the only Democratic presidential candidate who has appeared in Utah during the past year. He delivered the keynote address at a University of Utah dinner honoring former Gov. Matheson's leadership."I've known Bill and Hillary for many years, and I know they will provide outstanding leadership and competence in the White House," Norma Matheson said, adding that "we have been organizing on Governor Clinton's behalf for several weeks, and we look forward to a strong showing in Utah's March 3rd primary election."
Wilson, who said Democrats have a strong field of candidates, supports Clinton because he "offers the strongest record of performance and grasp of the issues."
"Clinton's platform to recapture the forgotten middle class connects strongly with the voters of Utah in our current economic crisis," Wilson said.
