BYU's women's tennis team scratched out two singles victories while losing 6-2 to 10th-ranked Miami Saturday in Provo. Freshman Cherie Kaneshiro at No. 5 singles used a potent forehand return of serve to put the first Cougar point on the board by sweeping Michelle Fry 7-5, 6-3. Cougar junior Sarah Mugnaini took 2 1/2 hours to thwart Bettina Sonneveld 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 4.
