To the editor:

Punishment for murder in America has become a farce and a misuse of justice.Absolutely nothing is accomplished penologically by spending tax fortunes on a killer for a decade and a half and treating his every whim as though he were a queen bee, and then turning around 15 years later and phasing him out of this world by medication as though he were a beloved old dog taken to the vet's. Few of us will die so pleasantly - we who have paid for these killers' country-club stays in prison.

Lethal injection is a farce and defeats the whole purpose of the penal aspect of the death penalty. Let's get the firing squads fired up again and let's put them to use less than two weeks after the crime.
