Nellie Bly Moody Beal, age 94, passed away January 29, 1992 at the Nephi Canyon Hills Health Care Center of causes incident to age.

She was born February 9, 1897 at Deseret, Millard County to Milton and Nellie Bishop Moody. She married George Leon Beal, September 6, 1916 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died April 26, 1956. Over the years, Mrs. Beal was considered an outstanding public service citizen. She was very active in the LDS Church, music, civic and political circles. She directed Ehpriam West Ward Choir for many years, a teacher in the Relief Society, Mutual and Sunday School. Served as County Chairman in the Democratic Party and County Chairman of the Home Services of the Red Cross during World War II. Bly was an ardent lover of flowers, she took pride in her yard. Member of the Ephriam Flower Club, and had projects going to improve and beautify Ephriam City. After the death of her husband, she traveled extensively throughout the world.Survived by a son, Stanley Beal, of Ephriam; a daughter, Glenna Dee McCauley, Los Altos, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a brother, Milo Moody, Spanish Fork; a sister, Zelia Beal, Salt Lake. Preceded in death by a son, Karl, a daughter, Nellie West, and a granddaughter, Leslie Hatfield.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 4, 12 noon in the Ephriam 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call 10-11:45 a.m.

Interment, Ephriam Park Cemetery.
