Hundreds of parkas and skiwear worth tens of thousands of dollars have been stolen recently from five Murray and South Salt Lake stores.
Police say the clothing may have ended up in swap meets, being sold from the back of a van or fenced out of state.South Salt Lake Detective Joe Bennett said he has sent a bulletin and photos of coats to area police authorities to be on the lookout for the stolen merchandise.
Linda Webber of Parka City in Murray said she has been hit twice by the smash-and-grab thieves and has spent $1,000 on electronic surveillance to avoid becoming a victim again.
