Bob Beauchamp, in Birmingham, England, lifts one of his remaining stock of 12 Trabants to demonstrate how light they are. The bodywork is made from a mixture of rags, cardboard and resin. Beauchamp imports the cars from the former East Germany; he then paints them brightly in reds, blues and yellows and sells them for 900 pounds sterling.
