The First Presidency has announced the call of six more mission presidents. The new presidents and their wives will be assigned to specific missions later and will begin their service about July 1. Those called are:
Howard C. Anderson, Jr., 44, Wasatch 4th Ward, Salt Lake Wasatch Stake; Young Men president, former bishop's counselor, ward executive secretary, elders quorum president, Young Men president's counselor, deacons quorum adviser, and Sunday School president; served in Italian Mission, 1966-69; vice president of commercial loans and loan center manager for bank; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Casper, Wyo., a son of Howard Chilcote and Peggy Louise Teichmer Anderson; married Claudia Salmon, three children. She is a Young Women adviser, former stake Young Women president, counselor, and secretary, ward Primary president, counselor and secretary, and Relief Society president's counselor; project coordinator for architectural firm; received associate degree from Salt Lake Community College and bachelor's degree from the University of Utah; born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Robert Lynwood and Betty Jean Carter Salmon.
Jose Evenor Boza Dompe, 39, Vista Hermosa Ward, Guatemala City Guatemala Stake; stake president, former stake president, bishop, high priests assistant, district executive secretary, district mission president, institute instructor, branch president's counselor and secretary, and elders quorum teacher, served in San Jose Costa Rica Mission, 1976-78; personnel manager for the area office of the Church; received bachelor's degree from Mariano Galvez University, diploma from the Center of Business Development, and certificate from the National Commerce Institute; born in Santo Domingo, Chontales, Nicaragua, a son of Jose Manuel Boza Mondragon and Alicia Del Socorro Dompe Urbina de Boza; married Janette Arauz, five children. She is a Relief Society teacher, former temple worker supervisor, Relief Society president and secretary, Sunday School teacher, and ward Primary president's counselor; received bachelor's degrees from Ramirez Goyena Institute and the Center of Higher Education; born in Managua, Nicaragua, a daughter of Corrales Humberto and Merceds Amaya de Arauz.
Victorio Amian Collado, 41, Mandaluyong 2nd Ward, Makati Philippines Stake; bishop, former high councilor, stake executive secretary, elders quorum president and counselor, branch president's counselor, and Sunday School president; area finance manager for the Church; received bachelor's degree from Luzon Colleges; born in Manila Philippines, a son of Cesar Castaneda and Juanita Sison Amian Collado; married Socorro Delos Reyes Paasa, four children. She is a ward welfare services coordinator, former Young Women president and counselor, Primary president and teacher, and Relief Society president's counselor; received certificate from Lyceum Northwestern and attended Luzon Colleges; born in Dagupan City, Philippines, a daughter of Eliseo Estrella and Natividad Garcia Delos Reyes Paasa.
Fernando R. Gomez, 51, Pleasant View 5th Ward, Provo Utah Sharon East Stake; former regional representative, mission president's counselor, and stake president's counselor; president of micro electronics company; received bachelor's degree from BYU; born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, a son of Raymundo and Consuelo Paez Gomez; married Enriqueta Pina, four children. She is a Relief Society visiting teaching supervisor, former Relief Society president, homemaking leader and teacher, Young Women president, and Primary president; born in Los Mochis, Sinaloa Mexico, a daughter of David and Enriqueta De La Mora Pina.
Roger A. Hendrix, 47, Palos Verdes East Ward, Palos Verdes California Stake; public affairs council chairman, former stake president's counselor, high councilor, stake mission president, bishop and counselor, and gospel doctrine teacher; served in Argentina North Mission, 1964-66; president and owner of management consulting firm; received bachelor's degree from California State University at Long Beach, master's degree from BYU, and doctorate degree from the University of Southern California; born in Alhambra, Calif., a son of Fred Gooch and Vera LaVon Nelson Hendrix; married Cheryl Darleen Fannin, five children. Lynn E. Smith, 56, Rexburg 16th Ward, Rexburg Idaho East Stake; stake president's counselor, former temple ordinance worker, high councilor, stake executive secretary, bishop, assistant high priests group leader, branch president, and Cubmaster; served in Spanish American Mission, 1957-60; director of leadership institute at Ricks College; received bachelor's and master's degrees from BYU; born in Provo, Utah, a son of Clarence Alvin and Orpha May Walker Smith; married Dora Ann Laker, six children.
