Planning has begun for the first women's health forum to be held in Millard County, an event which committee members anticipate will become an annual one.
The keynote speaker will be Chieko Ikazaki, an educator and a member of the Relief Society Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will relate her experience with breast cancer and her fight to overcome the stigma attached to the disease.Committee members have selected March 21 as the date for the health forum, to be held in the Millard County Fair Building in Delta. Discussions will center around breast cancer detection, depression, stress and the building of strong families.
Members of the planning committee include Ruth Thompson, Margaret Densley, Gayle Cason, Marlene Whicker, Kathleen Wankier, Berniece Stephenson, Diane Mecham, Sylvia Huntsman, Sonya Taylor, Elva Richman, Delores Myers, Ann Nielsen and Cherie Morris.
