Michael John Compton, age 29, returned to live with his Heavenly Father after a long-term battle with a brain tumor on February 4, 1992.
He was born August 6, 1962 in Brigham City, a son of Dean and Carol Brown Compton. He married Laurie Jeanet Scothern, November 13, 1980 in Brigham City; marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple November 13, 1981. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as executive secretary, in the Sunday School presidency and as pianist in several ward organizations. He worked with his father as a farmer in Idaho on the family farm and had been employed for UDOT and had done backhoe work for many people.Surviving are his wife, Brigham City; one son, four daughters, Zane Michael, Michelle, Stephanie, Stacey and Amanda, all of Brigham City; parents, Brigham City; three brothers and one sister, Steven Compton, Honeyville; Kelly Compton, Brian Compton; and LuAnn and Bob Phippen, all of Brigham City.
Funeral services Fri., 1 p.m. at the Brigham 18th Ward Chapel, 531 No. 100 West. Friends may call Thurs. from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary in Brigham City. Interment: Brigham City Cemetery.
