People wanting to send candy hearts or other Valentine sweets through the mail are being urged to use special padded envelopes for the treats.
Salt Lake Postmaster Kenneth R. Prentiss said candy poses a hazard for high-speed equipment. When a regular envelope containing candy enters the machines, the candy explodes as if hit with a hammer.
