Three suspicious vehicle fires kept Salt Lake City firefighters busy Wednesday night.
The first of the fires occurred at 700 S. State at 7:30 p.m. A cellular phone was stolen from the car and it was set on fire. Damage was estimated at about $500, said Salt Lake City fire Capt. Dan Andrus.About 8:40 p.m., two vehicles and an underground parking lot were damaged in a fire. Three cars were buglarized in the same parking garage, Andrus said. Smoke also damaged some offices above the parking area and the total damage was estimated at $50,000, he said.
A fire at 10:48 p.m. damaged a garage and a Toyota Camry parked inside. Damage to both the garage and car was estimated at $20,000, he said.
Andrus said the fires were being investigated as suspicious. He said it wasn't known if any of the fires might be related.
