WATER BOARD WILL FUND PROJECTS IN 4 COMMUNITIES

Three irrigation projects have received funding commitments totaling $675,000 from the Utah Board of Water Resources.

West Layton Irrigation Co., Davis County, will receive $180,000 for a pipeline project; Ephraim Irrigation Co., Sanpete County, will receive $300,000 for a gravity sprinkle irrigation project; and American Fork Irrigation Co., Utah County, will receive $195,000 for a pipeline project.The board also committed $53,000 to Marion Waterworks Co., Summit County, for culinary water system improvements.

The companies will repay the loans at varying rates of interest over varying time frames as established by the board when formal contracts are signed.

Once funds become available, Croydon Pipeline Co., Morgan County, will receive a $116,000 loan and Ivins, Washington County, will receive a $203,000 loan.

The board approved feasibility studies on five new loan requests: $381,000 from Spring Creek Service Co., Summit County, for culinary water system improvements; $40,000 from Goshen Irrigation and Canal Co., Utah County, for irrigation pipeline; $250,000 from Upper Canal Irrigation Co., Salt Lake County, for a pressurized lawn and garden watering system; $1.2 million from Willard City, Box Elder County, for culinary water system improvements; and $395,000 from Elk Ridge, Utah County, for culinary water system improvements.
