A TCI Cablevision manager was treated for a broken wrist and other injuries after being beaten and robbed while making a night bank deposit Tuesday.

Assistant Police Chief Steve Shreeve said the manager had gotten out of his car and was approaching the branch of First Interstate Bank at 2787 W. 3500 South about 8 p.m. when a white male in his late 30s attacked him with a "fish whacker" type baseball bat.The assault took place in front of the bank along 3500 South, possibly within view of passing motorists, Shreeve said. He encouraged anyone who might have seen the assault to contact the police department.

People making after-hours deposits can be easy prey for attackers, Shreeve said. "The best thing for people who are making night drops for businesses is to take somebody with them."
