POLICE RESPONDING TO PROWLER CALL SEIZE GOODS AND ARREST CALLER

Washington County deputy sheriffs confiscated firearms, a portable greenhouse, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia after responding to a prowler call.

Arrested was Gary Rosenkilde, 57, of LaVerkin, who also was identified as the caller.Rosenkilde was booked into jail for investigation of possession of a controlled substance, possession of suspected drug paraphernalia and discharge of a firearm.

Deputy Dan Endter said Rosenkilde had apparently fired at least 10 rounds from a 9mm pistol and four 12-gauge shotgun rounds through the wall of his travel-trailer from inside to scare away the prowler.

Police said they seized 11 rifles, seven handguns and about 2,000 rounds of ammunition.

No evidence of a prowler could be found in the area.

Rosenkilde was being held in jail Tuesday in lieu of $10,000 bail.
