A. LeGrand Parsons, age 70, died at his home, March 10, 1992 of cancer.

Born August 11, 1921, in Koosharem, Utah, to William Henry Parsons and Clara Malvina Olsen. Married Florence Buchanan, May 28, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served his country during World War II, in the Air Force. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees, as well as a Ph. D. from the University of Utah. "Dr. Parsons" as he was fondly called by his students, began his career in education as a teacher in Richfield and later became a counselor and principal for the Salt Lake City School District. LeGrand devoted much time and energy to his church assignments which included leadership, clerical and teaching positions. His fondness for sports, especially tennis, kept him active until his recent illness.Survived by his wife; children, Mrs. Gail (Connie) Brown; John (Cassandria); Mrs. Lynn (Mary) Hales; Ted (Diana); Mrs. Michael (Jane) Mangelson; brothers, Loraine, Wendell, Vernile and Woodrow; thirteen grandchildren. We will all miss his quiet warmth.

Funeral Saturday, March 14, 1992, Monument Park 8th Ward, 1794 Texas Street, 1 p.m., where friends may call Friday, March 13th from 7-9 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South or from 11:30 - 12:45 at the ward Saturday. Interment, Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
