BUSH CAMPAIGN RESTRUCTURING ITS ADVERTISERS

The Bush campaign is restructuring its advertising team for the fall after being pushed by Patrick Buchanan's challenge into a frenzy that one aide said left the campaign "without a plan or strategy."

Bush is even trying to lure his 1988 attack ad-maker, Roger Ailes, out of his self-imposed political retirement as his campaign seeks to assemble a broader ad team for the general election.Ailes has rebuffed the effort.

Senior campaign officials said they planned from the start to expand the current ad team of Alex Castellanos, Don Sipple and Mike Murphy to a roundtable of political and commercial ad experts for the general election.

But a campaign aide said Wednesday the current ad team two weeks ago asked the campaign to speed up the revamping.
