OVEREAGER PARENTS DOOM EASTER EGG HUNT

This year's Riverfront Easter egg hunt was canceled because last year parents rushed in before the kids and grabbed most of the 20,000 eggs.

"We just said enough is enough and we're going to take a break this year," said Thomas W. Purcell, chairman of the Downtown St. Louis Inc. committee that organizes the event. The committee worried that someone would be injured. Children and adults were knocked over in the rush last year.

Parents have been a problem for the last three years and keep getting more aggressive, he said Wednesday.
