EXHIBITION OF ANTIQUITIES

A selection of rare and ancient Near Eastern antiquities - including works in alabaster, lapis lazuli, gold and shell - has been lent by the Louvre Museum, Paris, for an exhibition at Washington's Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. The gallery describes the 32 objects on loan as "some of the world's most celebrated works of art" from the unrivaled French collections. The exhibit closes Aug. 9.
