The second phase of an extensive remodeling project at Valley View Medical Center is under way. Emergency services have been relocated to temporary quarters in the southeast wing of the hospital.
Patients will enter the emergency department from 680 South, just around the corner from the former emergency on 75 East."We request that the entrance be used by emergency room patients and that only emergency room patients park in the adjacent parking lot," said hospital administrator Margaret Holm. "No parking will be allowed along the red-marked curved driveway."
When complete the expanded emergency department will have separate entrances for ambulance and ambulatory patients. The present area is being gutted and completely rebuilt to better serve the increasing number of emergency room patients.
Phase one of the remodeling project included the complete renovation of the hospital's obstetrics department.
