HANDICAPPED SKIERS OPEN HUNTSMAN CUP

Handicapped skiers from around the country opened the three-day Huntsman Cup ski challenge today at Park City with a Super G. Included in the starting lineup will be the U.S. Disabled Ski Team.

Following today's race, skiers will compete in a giant slalom on Saturday and a slalom on Sunday. Starting time for each race is 10 a.m. Skiers who are amputees, blind or mobility impaired will compete in this race in specific divisions.The event, organized by the Park City Handicapped Sports Association, is a qualifying race for the nationals to be held March 28-April 4 in Aspen, Colo. Subaru of America has put up $10,000 in prize money for this weekend's race.

The PCHSA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sports and recreational activities for physically and mentally disabled children and adults.
