PROVO HOSPITAL OFFERING 3 HEALTH CLASSES

The Utah Valley Regional Medical Center is offering three weight management, nutrition and exercise classes beginning Tuesday, March 24.

A headline on a Thursday Deseret News story about the weight-control programs incorrectly stated they were Utah Valley Community College classes.The weight control program for adults will be held Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. in dining rooms 3 and 4 at the hospital for eight consecutive weeks. The aim of this program is to provide a long-term solution to weight loss. Emphasis of the program is health and lifestyle change rather than on dieting.

Cost is $75. This includes body fat percentage testing at the beginning and end of the program, and $24 of the cost can be earned back through exercise, keeping food intake records and class attendance.

A weight loss program for teenagers, called nutrition and exercise with success (NEWS) for teens, will begin Tuesday, March 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in dining room four. Cost is $60. This fee covers the expenses of materials and class fee for both parents and their child.
