ICE HAND GOLDEN EAGLES THEIR 4TH STRAIGHT ROAD LOSS

The Salt Lake Golden Eagles scored the first goal Saturday against Indianapolis, then were outplayed the rest of the night as the Ice outshot them 33 to 16 on their way to a 5-1 drubbing of the visitors from Salt Lake City.

The loss was the Golden Eagles' fourth straight on the road, where they've been outscored 16 to 2 in those four encounters. In a penalty-ridden first period, Salt Lake's Kevin Grant took a pass from Todd Harkins and put in a shot that Ice goalie Ray LeBlanc couldn't stop. But Indy answered with goals by Jim Johannson and Steve Bancoft. Trevor Dam scored for the Ice in the second period and Jeff Jackson and Sean Williams added goals in the third.

Indy's win puts them just five points behind Salt Lake in the battle for a playoff spot. The Golden Eagles travel to Peoria for a 2 p.m. game today.
