Park City will launch its "Music in the Mountains in March" this week with performances every afternoon and evening March 19-22.
More than 100 hours of free music are planned at a variety of Park City locations. In addition local clubs, hotels and restaurants are scheduling entertainment during the same time.Performing Thursday will be harpist Cate Cannon, the Ellis Iverson Folk Duo, the Steve Johnson Guitar Trio, Idlewilde, Harmony Hijinks and others at such locations as Deer Valley's Snow Park Lodge, the ParkWest Ski Area, Main St. Pocket Plaza, the Main St. Trolley and the Stein Eriksen Lodge.
Friday's lineup includes Dr. Bob, Crosstowne, the International Jazz Quartet, the Riverboat Ramblers, the Powder Ridge Trio, Kent Thompson and Don Gomes. Saturday performances will be presented by B.D. Howes, the Sunshine Generation, Stillwater, violist Nola Campbell, the Salt Lake Scots, Cowdaddies and the Lars Yorgason Singers, among others.
Performers Sunday, March 22, will include Intermountain Brass, the Mark Chaney Trio, the Alan Weight Quintet and the Park City Chamber Music Ensemble, this last between noon and 2 p.m. at the Goldener Hirsch Restaurant.
